WHM Optimization Guide — cPanel Server Performance
WHM (Web Host Manager) is the root-level panel on cPanel servers. Proper tuning can host 20–40% more accounts on the same hardware and reduce support tickets.
1. Service profile
In WHM → Server Configuration, pick LiteSpeed + LSCache for WordPress-heavy clusters; LSAPI or event MPM for classic PHP.
2. PHP-FPM & OPcache
Assign PHP 8.2/8.3 per account via MultiPHP Manager. Start with opcache.memory_consumption=256 and max_accelerated_files=10000.
3. MySQL / MariaDB
Set innodb_buffer_pool_size to 50–70% of RAM. Enable slow_query_log and review weekly.
4. Backup window
Schedule JetBackup/cPanel backups 03:00–06:00 to avoid peak I/O.
5. Security
Harden Tweak Settings, use Imunify360/CSF, key-only SSH for root.
